J. Davies 2004

“Generous aromas of rich blackberry and raspberry are bold in nature, and complimented by tempting Indian spices. The palate exudes dense and classic Diamond Mountain fruit, while the wine's mid-palate is full of dark berries, with notes of chocolate escorted by warm toasty oak and a long luxurious finish” - Hugh Davies & Craig Roemer, Winemakers Introduced for the first time in the J. Davies Cabernet is Petit Verdot to offer even more power and complexity into the wine. This Bordeaux blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 7% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot was aged in half new and half used French oak barrels for 19 months. Additionally, this wonderful fourth vintage has been allowed six more months in bottle to blend and mature even more gracefully. Estate grown, produced and bottled here on the Schramsberg property, the wine has become a true expression of our hillside vineyards. Only 1300 cases were produced with magnums and three liters also available in limited quantities.
